We Are Ocean

We Are Ocean collective emerged in 2016 from a small group of organisations, aligned by shared objectives of increasing Ocean Literacy and effective collaboration. In accelerating Ocean Literacy we will live in a society that understands the importance of the ocean to humankind, can talk about the ocean in a meaningful way and are able to make informed and responsible decisions regarding the ocean and it’s resources.

The starting point for our journey together, a 40 page review of our enquiry into Ocean Literacy

World Ocean Day for Schools

Our first activation as a collective, transforming World Ocean Day to be like World Book day in schools across the globe.

Ocean Mic

An experiment with all of the Finisterre stores in the UK, do give over the floor to the customers to talk about their human connection to the ocean.

Sea is the Sky

A billboard activation through the rainy months of April & May to bring awareness of the connection of rain is from the Ocean.

We are Rising

The annual summit where over 50 people joined us in Plymouth for 24 hours to discuss, design and plan for 2020.

We Are Ocean is a collective of organisations motivated by a healthy ocean who are seeking to raise ocean literacy in culture - namely our understanding of the intimate human relationship to the biggest life support system on earth - the ocean.
